Hawick Amateur Operatic Society was founded in 1910. The founder members included Willie and John Campbell, W. P. Gaylor, Adam Leithhead and Helen Charters who was the mother of the recently retired producer Jean Wintrope. The first production “H.M.S. Pinafore” was staged in the ‘New Theatre’ in Croft Road in the spring of 1911.Nowadays the company still thrives and is open to anyone with an interest in Drama, Musical Theatre and Dance.
We are always looking for enthusiastic people to tread the boards with us and people to help with backstage and production. Full training given in all roles.
